Job Console
The Job Console is your control center for executing, monitoring, and scheduling Oracle EPM Calculation Manager rules and data load processes directly from Excel.
Run Rule
Execute a single Calculation Manager rule against your connected application.
- Click Run Rule in the Job Console ribbon group.
- Select your target Application and Cube.
- Choose the rule you want to run from the dropdown.
- If the rule contains Runtime Prompts (RTPs), a grid will appear allowing you to input variables before execution.
- Click Execute. The rule will run asynchronously in the background.
Run Rule Set
Rule Sets allow you to execute a pre-defined sequence of rules established in Calculation Manager. This is ideal for month-end close processes where order of operations matters. The interface behaves identically to "Run Rule", but executes the entire set.
Job Sequences
Captain EPM extends native EPM functionality by allowing you to build your own custom ordered sequences directly in Excel.
- Mix and match calculation rules, data imports, and data exports in a single chain.
- Add custom delays between jobs to ensure data propagation.
- Configure error handling (e.g., "Stop on Error" or "Continue on Error").
Sequences are saved locally to your tenant profile, meaning they persist across different Excel workbooks.
Job Monitor
Keep track of all running, completed, and failed jobs across the environment.
The Job Monitor provides a real-time polling interface. You can filter the view by Job Status (Processing, Completed, Error), User, or Date Range. If a job fails, you can double-click the row to view the detailed Essbase or Planning error log, and click Retry to immediately re-queue the job.
