Trademark Notice

This notice identifies the trademarks used by Captain EPM, explains how others may refer to them, and attributes the third-party marks that appear across this Site. Each section begins with a plain-English summary; the full text is what takes effect.

1Our Marks

In plain English

These names and logos are ours. We use the TM symbol because registration is in progress, not complete.

The following names, logos and product identities are trademarks of Captain EPM (“Captain EPM”, “we”, “us”, “our”), used in connection with software and related services for Oracle Enterprise Performance Management environments:

CAPTAIN EPM™ — our house mark, covering the business and all products offered under it.
EPM CONDUCTOR™ — our self-hosted orchestration platform for Oracle EPM Cloud.
EPM COMMANDER™ — our Microsoft Excel administration add-in for Oracle EPM.
CAPTAIN MCP™ — our Model Context Protocol server bridging LLM agents to Oracle EPM.
EPM HARBOR™ — a product currently in development.
The Captain EPM boat and compass device marks, in all colour and monochrome variants.

The “™” symbol indicates a mark in which we claim rights. It does not indicate a completed registration. Where and when any of these marks becomes registered in a given territory, this notice will be updated to identify the mark, the register, and the registration number, and the “®” symbol will be used only in that territory.

Nothing on this Site should be read as a claim that any mark is registered in any jurisdiction where it is not.

2Referring to Our Marks

You can name our products in reviews, articles and integration docs. You cannot use our names or logos as your own branding.

You may refer to our products by name, without asking us first, for the purpose of accurate description — in journalism, reviews, comparisons, academic work, integration documentation, or in describing your own compatible product or service.

When you do, please:

Use the full product name as written here, including the ™ symbol on first prominent use.
Use our marks as adjectives, not nouns or verbs — “the EPM Conductor platform”, not “a Conductor” or “to Conductor a routine”.
Never alter, abbreviate, translate, hyphenate, or combine our marks with your own name or mark.
Never use our marks in your company name, product name, domain name, social media handle, or app store listing.
Never use our logos or device marks without a written licence from us.
Never present your product, service or content in a way that suggests we produced, sponsored, endorsed or approved it.

We reserve the right to withdraw permission for any use that is misleading, disparaging, or damaging to the marks. Requests for logo use or partner branding should be sent to support@captain-epm.com.

3Third-Party Marks and Non-Affiliation

Oracle, Microsoft and others own their own names. We are independent and not endorsed by any of them.

Our products are built to interoperate with software produced by other companies. Their names appear on this Site solely to describe that interoperability, which is a nominative fair use. We claim no rights in them.

Oracle, Java, Essbase, Hyperion, Smart View and EPM Automate are trademarks or registered trademarks of Oracle Corporation and/or its affiliates.
Microsoft, Windows, Excel and Microsoft 365 are trademarks or registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
Claude and Anthropic are trademarks of Anthropic PBC. Model Context Protocol and MCP refer to an open protocol specification published by Anthropic PBC.
All other product names, logos and brands are the property of their respective owners.

Captain EPM is an independent software vendor. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to Oracle Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Anthropic PBC, or any other third party whose marks appear on this Site. Our products are not Oracle products and are not supported by Oracle.

4What This Notice Does and Does Not Cover

Trademarks protect our names. Our source code is protected separately by copyright and by our licence terms.

Trademark rights protect the names and logos under which we trade. They are distinct from, and additional to, the other rights we hold.

Copyright subsists automatically in the source code, user interfaces, documentation, website content, datasheets and graphics of each Product, and is owned by Captain EPM or licensed to it.
The terms on which each Product may be used, copied, modified or redistributed are set out in our Terms of Service and in the licence accompanying each Product — not in this notice.
Unauthorised copying, decompilation, reverse engineering or redistribution of a Product is addressed under those terms and under applicable copyright law.

This notice does not grant you any licence, right or interest in any mark, and no such licence may be implied from the availability of this Site or of any Product.

5Reporting Misuse

If you see someone passing themselves off as us, tell us.

If you believe a third party is using one of our marks in a way that is confusing, misleading, or suggests an affiliation that does not exist, please report it to support@captain-epm.com with the URL or other location, a description of the use, and the date you observed it.
